What is the LANAP protocol?
The LANAP® protocol uses a special dental laser called the “PerioLase® MVP-7™”. This cutting-edge laser is a tiny fiber about the width of three human hairs that is inserted between the gum tissue and teeth. It targets and destroys bacteria deep within the pockets of the gums without affecting any of the surrounding healthy tissue. It is also safe for patients on blood thinners.
There is No Downtime
Patients typically see immediate results including less bleeding when brushing and lessening of bad breath due to of the gentle nature of the procedure. Because the procedure is minimally invasive, after a LANAP® treatment, you can drive your car, go back to work, or do anything else you like.

- How much does LANAP cost?
The cost of LANAP treatment varies depending on the severity and extent of periodontal disease being treated. At our office, LANAP therapy typically ranges from approximately $1,400–$1,700 per arch before insurance benefits.
As part of the treatment protocol, limited bite adjustments (occlusal adjustments) and a custom night guard are often recommended to help reduce excessive forces on the teeth and support long-term healing and stability. These services may involve additional fees depending on the individual case.
