Invisalign® consists of clear removable aligners that are worn over the teeth, allowing for easy removal during eating, brushing, and flossing. This comfortable and convenient option is effective for straightening crowded, gapped, or misaligned teeth, which can be more difficult to clean and more prone to tooth decay, gum disease, cracking, and wear. Using Invisalign® can help protect against these issues.
Invisalign® offers a non-invasive, aesthetic solution for straightening teeth, whether they are crowded, gapped, or misaligned. This treatment can give you a healthier, more beautiful smile.
During your consultation with Dr. Jill Moniz, we will assess if you are a suitable candidate for Invisalign®. A 3D model of your teeth will be created to design a personalized treatment plan. This model allows you to visualize the outcome of your treatment.
Custom-fabricated Invisalign® aligners will be provided for your teeth. You will wear these aligners for 22 hours a day, only removing them for eating and oral hygiene. Every two weeks, you will switch to a new aligner that gradually straightens your teeth.
Patients using Invisalign® typically experience less pain, discomfort, and mouth sores compared to those with traditional braces. Additionally, there is a lower risk of plaque buildup during treatment as the aligners can be removed for proper brushing and flossing.

Retainers
The most comprehensive orthodontic treatment typically involves the use of braces or aligners to correct misalignment and achieve a straight smile and even bite. However, braces are just one part of the process. After your braces are removed, the retention phase begins, which is crucial for maintaining your results. It is important to follow through with retention and keep your appointments with our team to ensure the success of your orthodontic treatment. Different types of retainers may be recommended to you.
- Clear Retainers: A removable, transparent plastic tray that fits over your teeth.
- Traditional Retainers: A removable appliance made of acrylic and a wire that sits on the front side of your teeth.
- Bonded Retainer: A thin, fixed wire that is temporarily bonded to the lingual (tongue) side of the anterior teeth.
Our doctor will recommend the best retainer option for your orthodontic treatment plan. It is important to wear your retainer as instructed to maintain the corrected position of your teeth. When not in use, store your retainer in its case to prevent bacteria buildup. Regular cleaning with a wet toothbrush and disinfecting solution is necessary to keep your retainer hygienic.
